Your thinking about growing your own? Prescription in a natural plant.
Here are a few steps you can take to get started.
Before you start let’s get everything you’ll need to set up for success.
Seeds (There are several to choose from)
Containers ( seedlings can be planted in sprouting cubes or directly into big pots 5 gallon size).
Soil ( should be light fluffy non fertilized).
Lights ( depending on how many plants, lighting can be as simple as a regular light bulb for the seedlings to Full Spectrum lighting for growth of vegetation and flowering)
pH Tester ( very important pH balance of the water should be between: First weeks: 5.8 – 5.9. Pre-bloom: 6.0 – 6.2. Real bloom: 6.0 – 6.3
Water ( test your water. You can use bottled spring water with no additives.)
Starting your seeds. You’ll need 1 paper towel and a plastic bag or a plate. Good water is necessary for a healthy start.
Place the paper towel in the bowl, plate or plastic bag. Place your seed or seeds in the center. If more than one seed make sure to give plenty of space between the seeds. Gently pour the water over the paper towel and place in a dark place. Check every day. Should only take a couple of days till a little white root appears. Wait until it’s about 1/2 inch long.
After the seed germinates wait until it is 1/2” long. Make a hole about 1 inch deep. A pencil eraser is a measuring tool. Place the root down and the seed cap. Lightly place some fluffy dirt on top and water. Set under the lights about 1” inch above seedling. Don’t turn on the lights until the 2 green leaves appear. Then 18 to 20 hours of light per day.
An influenza pandemic is a global outbreak of a new influenza A virus that is very different from current and recently circulating human seasonal influenza A viruses. Influenza A viruses are constantly changing, making it possible on very rare occasions for non-human influenza viruses to change in such a way that they can infect people easily and spread efficiently from person to person.
Pigs experimentally infected with the strain of swine flu that caused the human pandemic of 2009–10 showed clinical signs of flu within four days, and the virus spread to other uninfected pigs housed with the infected ones and then to humans.
1940s: Thomas Francis, Jr., MD and Jonas Salk, MD serve as lead researchers at the University of Michigan to develop the first inactivated flu vaccine with support from the U.S. Army. Their vaccine uses fertilized chicken eggs in a method that is still used to produce most flu vaccines today. The Army is involved with this research because of their experience with troop loss from flu illness and deaths during WWI. This original vaccine only includes an inactivated influenza A virus.
1940s: First-generation mechanical ventilators become available. These machines support breathing in patients suffering respiratory complications.
1940: Influenza B viruses are discovered.
1942: A bivalent (two component) vaccine that offers protection against influenza A and influenza B viruses is produced after the discovery of influenza B viruses.
1944: Use of cell cultures for virus growth is discovered. This allows viruses to be cultured outside the body for the first time. The ability to culture influenza from respiratory secretions allows diagnosis of influenza.
1945: Inactivated influenza vaccine is licensed for use in civilians.
1942: The Communicable Disease Center (CDC) opens in the old offices of the Malaria Control in War Areas, located on Peachtree Street in Atlanta, Georgia with a satellite campus in Chamblee. Launched with fewer than 400 employees, the organization—today the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention–moves to its current main campus on Clifton Road in Atlanta in 1947 after paying $10 to Emory University for 15 acres of land.
1947: During the seasonal flu epidemic of 1947, investigators determine that changes in the antigenic composition of circulating influenza viruses has rendered existing vaccines ineffective, highlighting the need for continuous surveillance and characterization of circulating flu viruses.
1948: The World Health Organization (WHO) Influenza Centre is established at the National Institute for Medical Research in London. The primary tasks of the organization are to collect and characterize influenza viruses, develop methods for the laboratory diagnosis of influenza virus infections, establish a network of laboratories, and disseminate data accumulated from their investigations.
1952: The Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS) is created by WHO to monitor the evolution of influenza viruses. The GISRS network originally includes 26 laboratories.
1956: The CDC’s Influenza Branch in Atlanta is designated a WHO Collaborating Centre for Surveillance, Epidemiology & Control of Influenza.
1957: A new H2N2 flu virus emerges to trigger a pandemic. There are about 1.1 million deaths globally, with about 116,000 in the U.S.
1960: In 1960, the US Surgeon General, in response to substantial morbidity and mortality during the 1957–58 pandemic, recommends annual influenza vaccination for people with chronic debilitating disease, people aged 65 years or older, and pregnant women.
1961: An outbreak in South Africa raises possibility of wild birds as a possible reservoir for influenza A viruses.
1962: CDC launches the 122 Cities Mortality Reporting System. Each week, the vital statistics office of 122 cities across the U.S. report the total number of death certificates processed and the number of those for which pneumonia or influenza is listed as an underlying or contributing cause of death by age group. The system is retired in October 2016.
1966: The FDA licenses amantadine, a new antiviral medication, as a prophylactic (preventive medicine) against influenza A. It isn’t effective against influenza B.
1967: Dr. H.G. Pereira and colleagues propose a relationship between human and avian flu viruses after a study shows an antigenic relationship between the 1957 human pandemic A virus and an influenza A virus isolated from a turkey. The study raises the question and triggers the body of work on whether human influenza viruses are of avian origin.
1968: A new H3N2 influenza virus emerges to trigger another pandemic, resulting in roughly 100,000 deaths in the U.S. and 1 million worldwide. Most of those deaths are in people 65 and older. H3N2 viruses circulating today are descendants of the H3N2 virus that emerges in 1968.
An H1N1 (swine flu) outbreak among recruits at Fort Dix leads to a vaccination program to prevent a pandemic. Within 10 months, roughly 25% of the US population is vaccinated (48 million people), about twice the level needed to provide coverage for the at-risk population. Cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome, a neurologic condition that in rare instances has been associated with vaccination, among vaccine recipients appeared to be in excess of what was expected, so officials determine the vaccination program should be halted. 1981: CDC begins collecting reports of influenza outbreaks from state and territorial epidemiologists.
Initially, infected foreign nationals were turned back at the U.S. border to help prevent additional infections. The number of U.S. deaths from AIDS have declined sharply since the early years of the disease’s presentation domestically. In the United States in 2016, 1.1 million people aged over 13 lived with an HIV infection, of whom 14% were unaware of their infection.
As of 2016, about 675,000 people have died of HIV/AIDS in the U.S. since the beginning of the HIV epidemic, and even today, nearly 13,000 people with AIDS in the United States die each year.
With improved treatments and better prophylaxis against opportunistic infections, death rates have quite significantly declined.
The overall death rate among persons diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in New York City decreased by sixty-two percent from 2001 to 2012.
1993: The Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program is established as a result of a measles outbreak to provide vaccines at no cost to children whose parents or guardians might not be able to afford them. The program increases the likelihood of children getting recommended vaccinations on schedule.
1993: The costs of influenza vaccine become a covered benefit under Medicare Part B.
1994: Rimantadine, derived from amantadine, is approved by the FDA to treat influenza A.
1996: An avian influenza H5N1 virus is first isolated from a farmed goose in China.
1997: The first human infection with an avian influenza A H5N1 virus is identified in Hong Kong.
1997: FluNet, a web-based flu surveillance tool, is launched by WHO. It is a critical tool for tracking the movement of flu viruses globally. Country data is updated weekly and is publically available.
1998: Influenza virus surveillance in swine, conducted by the US Department of Agriculture, begins in the United States. A virus that is a hybrid of human, bird and swine flu viruses is detected in pigs. This virus becomes the dominant flu virus in U.S. pigs by 1999.
1999: A pandemic planning framework is published by WHO emphasizing the need to enhance influenza surveillance, vaccine production and distribution, antiviral drugs, influenza research and emergency preparedness
1999: The neuraminidase inhibitors oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) and zanamivir (Relenza®) are licensed to treat influenza infection.
April 2002: The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) encourages that children 6 to 23 months of age be vaccinated annually against influenza.
2003: Public health officials are concerned about a re-emergence of H5N1 avian influenza reported in China and Vietnam.
June 2003: The first nasal spray flu vaccine is licensed.
2004: The National incident Management System (NIMS) is established to coordinate response for public health incidents that require actions by all levels of government, as well as public, private, and nongovernmental organizations.
2005: The US. Government National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza is published
2005: The entire genome of the 1918 H1N1 pandemic influenza virus is sequenced
2006: CDC stops recommending adamantanes during the 2005-2006 season after high levels of resistance among influenza A viruses. In the US, resistance increased from 1.9% during the 2003-2004 season to 11% in the 2004-2005 season.

The project produces right-size calculators; statistical tools that help states determine the optimal amount of influenza testing needed for desired confidence levels of surveillance.
2014: The FDA approves peramivir (Rapivab) to treat influenza in adults. It is the first IV flu medication.
2017: CDC updates guidelines for use of non-pharmaceutical measures to help prevent spread of pandemic influenza based on latest scientific evidence. These are actions that individuals and communities can take to help slow spread of the flu like staying home when sick, covering a cough or sneeze, and frequently washing hands.
Proton therapy is a type of radiation therapy — a treatment that uses high-energy beams to treat tumors. Radiation therapy using X-rays has long been used to treat cancers and noncancerous (benign) tumors. Proton therapy is a newer type of radiation therapy that uses energy from positively charged particles called protons.
Proton therapy has shown promise in treating several kinds of cancer. Studies have suggested that proton therapy may cause fewer side effects than traditional radiation, since doctors can better control where the proton beams deposit their energy. But few studies have directly compared proton therapy radiation and X-ray radiation, so it’s not clear whether proton therapy is more effective in prolonging lives.
Proton therapy isn’t widely available in the United States.
This is the machine that delivers the treatment.
Why it’s done
Proton therapy is used as a treatment for cancer and some noncancerous tumors. Proton therapy may be used as the only treatment for your condition. Or it may be used in conjunction with other treatments, such as surgery and chemotherapy.
Proton therapy is sometimes used to treat:
Cancer in children
Head and neck cancers
Pituitary gland tumors
Tumors affecting the spine
Tumors in the base of the skull
Clinical trials are investigation proton therapy as a treatment for a number of other types of cancer.
Proton therapy can cause side effects as the cancer cells die or when the energy from the proton beam damages healthy tissue.
Because doctors can better control where proton therapy releases its highest concentration of energy, proton therapy is believed to affect less healthy tissue and have fewer side effects than traditional radiation therapy. Still, proton therapy does release some of its energy in healthy tissue.
What side effects you experience will depend on what part of your body is being treated and the dose of proton therapy you receive.
In general, common side effects of proton therapy include:
Mouth, eating and digestion problems
Hair loss around the part of your body being treated
Skin redness around the part of your body being treated
Soreness around the part of your body being treated
How you prepare
Before you undergo proton therapy, your health care team guides you through a planning process to ensure that the proton beam reaches the precise spot in your body where it’s needed.
Planning typically includes:
Determining the best position for you during treatment. During radiation simulation, your radiation therapy team works to find a comfortable position for you during treatment. It’s imperative that you lie still during treatment, so finding a comfortable position is vital. To do this, you’ll be positioned on a table that will be used during your treatment. Cushions and restraints are used to place you in the correct position and to help you hold still. Your radiation therapy team will mark the area of your body that will receive the radiation. Depending on your situation, you may receive temporary marking with a marker or you may receive permanent tattoos.
Planning the path of the protons with imaging tests. Your radiation therapy team may have you undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computerized tomography (CT) scans to determine the area of your body to be treated and how best to reach it with the proton beams.
Consider the cost
Proton therapy is a newer form of radiation therapy that may be more expensive than traditional radiation therapy with X-rays. Not all insurance policies cover proton therapy. When considering your treatment options, work with your health insurance provider to understand what costs are covered by insurance and which costs you’ll be expected to pay.
What you can expect
During proton therapy
You typically undergo proton therapy five days a week for several weeks. However, in some cases, you may undergo only one or only a few treatments, depending on your condition. The actual proton therapy treatment may take only a minute or so, but expect to spend 30 to 45 minutes preparing before each treatment session.
You may also undergo weekly CT verification scans to see if the dose you receive needs to be recalculated based on changes in weight, or tumor size and shape, depending on your situation.
To prepare, you’ll be positioned on a table. Cushions and restraints will be used to hold your body still. Then you’ll undergo an imaging test, such as an X-ray or CT scan, to make sure your body is in the same precise position before each treatment.
Your radiation therapy team will then leave the room and go to an area where they can monitor you. They can still see and hear you.
What you experience next depends on the type of proton therapy machine your treatment team uses:
A proton therapy machine that rotates around you. If you’re undergoing proton therapy with a machine called a gantry, you’ll be placed on a table that is slowly slid into the circular opening of the machine. The machine rotates around you to direct proton beams at precise points on your body.
A proton therapy machine that doesn’t move. If you’re undergoing proton therapy with a fixed-beam machine, the table you’re positioned on will move and the proton therapy machine will remain still. The movement of your table during treatment is controlled remotely by your radiation therapy team. How often your table moves during treatment depends on your situation.
You won’t be able to feel the radiation during your proton therapy treatment.
After proton therapy
Once your treatment session is complete, you can go about your day. You won’t be radioactive or give off radiation.
Side effects of radiation usually develop over time. You may experience few side effects at first. But after several treatments you may experience fatigue, which can make it feel like your usual activities take more energy or that you have little energy for everyday tasks. You may also notice a sunburn-like skin redness in the area where the proton beams are directed.
Your doctor may recommend periodic imaging tests during and after your proton therapy to determine whether your cancer is responding to the treatments. How often you’ll undergo scans depends on your situation.
ASK YOUR DOCTOR WHAT YOUR OPTIONS ARE BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON A TREATMENT.
So much to be discovered in the world of CBD treatments. As soon as we all get away from the stigma that has been placed on a wonderful plant that can help with so many illnesses in so many ways.
Other countries have been testing and experimenting with their patients and CBD for many years, since the early 1920’s. Some say the Egyptians treated illnesses with CBD Hemp Marijuana dates back 3000 years. During the early years of this planet they used herbs and plants native to their areas to use as medicine. This plant was placed on this earth for a reason. Every plant on this earth has a medicinal use of some sort. Some we can even use as poison to kill off bad cells in our bodies. Natural medicine is the answer for so many medical uses .
It was prohibition that caused the medical society to put CBD Hemp Tinctures on the back burner and call it “A MONSTER” that created people to act crazy. We all know that was Alcohol and is to this day and not CBD , Marijuana, Hemp, Grass, Pot and Etc nicknames.
Actually all products and Bi-Products of THC does not make the people go all crazy. Actually opposite of that. They are very mellow and avoid any type of aggressive behavior unlike what we see with alcohol.
CBD is non-psychoactive because it does not act on the same pathways as the Psychoactive counterparts. These pathways in the brain, called CB1 receptors, are responsible for the psychoactive effects. The .3% or less standard has been established by the FDA as a trace amount with no psychoactive impacts on the human brain.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring cannabinoid constituent of cannabis. It was discovered in 1940 and initially thought not to be pharmaceutically active. It is one of at least 113 cannabinoids identified in hemp plants, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. As of 2018 in the United States, Food and Drug Administration approval of cannabidiol as a prescription drug called Epidiolex for medical uses has been limited to two rare forms of childhood epilepsy.
Cannabidiol can be taken into the body in multiple different ways, including by inhalation of cannabis smoke or vapor, as an aerosol spray into the cheek, and by mouth. It may be supplied as an oil containing only CBD as the active ingredient (no added THC or terpenes), a full-plant CBD-dominant hemp extract oil, capsules, dried cannabis, or as a prescription liquid solution.
Crystal Isolates is a high-end vapor liquid and oral drops infused with premium CBD rich hemp oil.
The research continues after several people have died from vaping THC and Vaping.
Side effects of CBD include sleepiness, decreased appetite, diarrhea, fatigue, malaise, weakness, sleeping problems, and others. It does not have intoxicating effects like those caused by THC, and may have an opposing effect on disordered thinking and anxiety produced by THC. CBD has been found to interact with a variety of different biological targets, including cannabinoid receptors and other neurotransmitter receptors. The mechanism of action of CBD in terms of its psychoactive and therapeutic effects is not fully clear.
Are you in need of some sleep? Edibles are a wonderful way to get your medicine dispensed so you can get a good nights rest. Many are available in todays market.
PLEASE RESEARCH YOUR PRODUCTS BEFORE YOU CONSUME ANY TYPE OF THC OR CBD OIL.
CDC reports that Vitamin E Acetate could be responsible for the deaths of 54 as of December 20, 2019…
CDC is confident that Vitamin E acetate is strongly linked to the EVALI outbreak. In a second report in the New England Journal of Medicine, CDC scientists found Vitamin E acetate in lung fluid washings, what we call bronchioloalveolar lavage samples in 48 of 51 samples of patients with EVALI but not in a variety of comparison patient groups. The patients with EVALI came from 16 different states, suggesting this was not a single local supplier of tainted products. These expanded patient clinical specimen results are consistent with previous work including identification by FDA and others of Vitamin E acetate in THC-containing products collected from patients with EVALI, as well as Minnesota’s recent report that Vitamin E acetate was in seized THC products from 2019 but not in any samples from 2018.
Given all of these findings, including today’s study, we can conclude that what I call the explosive outbreak of cases of EVALI can be attributed to exposure to THC-containing vaping products that also contained Vitamin E acetate. I want to stress that this does not mean that there are not other substances in e-cigarette or vaping products that have or are capable of causing lung injury. We know that a persistent small proportion of EVALI cases do not report use of THC-containing vaping products.
Are you ready to take on the task of painting and a slight remodel?
Many home owners are choosing to remodel instead of relocation. I am on that journey now. WeeWHOOOOOOO!!!
BY: Cynthia Stanard February 16, 2018
If you are remodeling please make sure to check the contractor’s license. If you are using a “Handy Man” make sure you get references and check them. Don’t get scammed or fooled because of a good “DEAL”.
Like my Daddy told me, “Just because it’s cheap, Don’t mean it’s good.
There are many scammers out there so “BE AWARE“ of who you are dealing with. You may want to check online @Google. Just enter the company name or person’s name. Check with the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) to see if they are in “good standing”.
If you are just starting to think about remodeling you might want to check out one of the many www.HGTV.com home remodeling shows. They have great ideas for all areas of the home. And if you are interested in tackling the project yourself don’t forget to check out www.youtube.com videos on DIY videos. They have step by step videos by many professionals on everything.
If you are going to do the project yourself and are using a “Warehouse” type to buy your products, I would choose my own wood and other items and have the order delivered or I would go through a reputable wood supplier to choose and deliver.
Talking about getting screwed… Today’s story starts off at receiving a sub-standard product on an order that was recently handpicked by Home Depot order pullers. Delivery was great by Hawaiian Movers; I do believe that’s who it was.
For the past 17 years I have dealt with HPM Building Supply and Argus Building Supply located in Hilo. Building my house I bought my lumber from Argus Building Supply and HPM. The lumber all came in great shape. No split pieces, end pieces or chunks of missing wood. Throughout the years I have continued to order wood from Argus and HPM. Not one time did I receive anything close to Home Depot’s poor quality. I rate Argus and HPM pickers at a 10 compared to Home Depot.
Home Depot takes a 3 on a scale of low 1 to 10 high. Not sure how they train there pullers at Home depot, but what a disappointment. Most of my 1x4x12 was scrap wood. Not one of them came with one decent face that wasn’t tore up in some fashion. That’s if it was not a first cut after the bark is stripped, banding marks, grease or oil on the boards, most of the boards had the 1” side face was ripped off. The other lumber rates about a 6. I have always gone and chosen my own wood and packed into my truck. But this time I figured they could handle it. Obviously I was wrong… And was I going to wait for another delivery… no.
My first step in my remodeling project was to paint the exterior and replace the trim on my house. I expected to sand with 100 grit sandpaper and add minor putty as usual. I had to putty and sand every board with 40 grade sandpaper and finish with a smooth surface with 100 grade sandpaper. The wood was so bad I should have returned it. The wood actually needed to be put through a planer, sides and corners remade with wood putty. I used 3 large cans of wood putty from Ace Hardware in Keaau and 3 days of sanding @8 hours a day. Home Depot only had plastic wood putty to repair the boards. I prefer the real deal. All I can say is thank god I am very experienced in finishing carpentry.
Speaking of ACE hardware Keaau, the staff is very knowledgeable. They really know their stuff. They also carry Shindawa Weed Eaters. Best for the Jungle. I have been through 5 craftsman weed eaters. One Shindawa that was used for 7 years, until it was stolen. Also ACE brand Metal Rust paint is very good.
Now with the new exterior paint by BEHR Marque Semi-Gloss, I have confidence the exterior house paint will last another 12 Years if not more as stated. The paint guy was spot on at Home Depot I give him a 10. Also the exterior Primer and Paint in one by BEHR is awesome also. I use exterior paint for the interior also. So will see how long this paint lasts. Check out my reviews on Painting Your House 101.
The Journey living in Hawaii. I built my own house from cutting trees to clearing land and building from the ground up. Learning along the way what will withstand the harsh salty air and the brutal rain storms. I am glad I was smart when I chose stucco for my exterior walls. It seems like other materials have gone to ruin in some way or another. Every piece of metal has rusted and flaked away into dust. Any wood exposed to the elements has deteriorated into spongy nothings. Constant Maintenance, everything needs to be painted or replaced here after a few years. I can’t tell you how many BBQS that I have laid to rest because of rust. I thank my luck stars that I have plenty of experience in all facets of construction, maintenance and the remodeling trades.

This is Chris Wark’s recipe. He Beat Cancer and you can read all about his journey and his Success
Awesome Cancer Fighting Recipe
by Chris Wark (Chris Beat Cancer)
To strengthen your body’s ability to fight cancer, you need to eat what I ate: The biggest baddest healthiest salad on the planet!
It consists of raw organic vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts and homemade dressing.
This salad is super healthy, delicious and will fill you up without zapping your energy.
The Raw Vegan Diet was a huge part of my anti-cancer strategy and I ate this salad every day, sometimes twice a day, during the first few years of my Chemo-Free Cancer Battle.
I wanted to put as many vitamins, minerals, nutrients and enzymes into my body as possible and there’s no better way than Juicing and eating fresh raw organic fruits and vegetables.
There’s really no secret formula to this salad, but there are some guidelines to follow:
Absolutely no cheese, meat, or store-bought salad dressing.
It’s also a good idea to avoid fruit which can cause some indention when eaten with vegetables.
It is important that you use organic produce, which is free of toxic chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
And of course wash everything before you eat it. Then just chop it all up and throw it in a bowl!
Note: You’re might need some bigger bowls. Mine doesn’t look very big in the photo, but it holds over 6 cups. That’s six servings of vegetables! 6-10 servings per day of fruits and vegetables is ideal for cancer prevention and healing.
The Giant Cancer Fighting Salad
-Start with the most nutrient dense dark leafy greens: Kale and Spinach. (Do not exceed 10 cups per day)
-Broccoli (The best source of sulforaphane which promotes liver detoxification, and Indole-3-carbinol, an anticarcinogenic compound )
-Broccoli Sprouts (Concentrated sulforaphane & I3C. Do not exceed four cups of sprouts per day)
-Purple cabbage (cheapest source of antioxidants per ounce in the world!)
-Slice of red onion, (yellow or green onions may actually be better)
-Red, Yellow, or Green Peppers
-Mushrooms Bella, Cremini, Shiitake, etc.
-1/2 an Avocado
-Raw Sunflower seeds (sprouted is better)
-Raw Almonds (sprouted is better)
-Sprouted Garbanzo Beans
-Sprouted Mung Beans
-Sprouted Red or Green Lentils
Then I top it off with either one of these naturally fermented foods:
-Bubbies Old Fashioned Sauerkraut
Bubbies is made with only three ingredients: cabbage, water and salt. It is fermented and cured with all natural enzymes intact and there is no vinegar added. (Bubbies Kosher dill pickles are super tasty too.)Look for it in the refrigerated section of your local grocer or health food store.
-Kimchi (Pronounced “Kim Chee”)
Kimchi is a spicy Korean version of sauerkraut typically consisting of fermented cabbage, onions, garlic, and pepper. Kim Chi has high concentrations of Vitamin C and Carotene in addition to Vitamin A, B1, B2, Calcium, Iron and beneficial lactic acid bacteria.
Recognized as one of the Top Five “World’s Healthiest Foods” by Health magazine. Also in the refrigerated section.
Fermented foods are great for digestion and repopulate your intestinal flora with beneficial bacteria essential for health.
Repeat: Absolutely no cheese, meat, fruit, or store-bought salad dressing.
I know it seems weird to exclude fruit. Here’s why:
Fruits and vegetables need different digestive juices, and when eaten together can create excess acid and indigestion. That is why it’s a good idea to eat them separately, especially if you are sick. This even includes non-sweet fruits like tomatoes and cucumbers.
My Homemade “Zesty Italian” Salad Dressing
This is hands down the healthiest salad dressing on the planet!
It’s super easy and delicious. Here’s how you make it:
-Add 1 tbsp Bragg organic extra virgin olive oil to your salad
-Add 1 tbsp Barleans cold-pressed flax oil to your salad
-Lightly drizzle Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to taste (another super healthy fermented food!)
Then shake on as much of these Four Cancer Fighting Spices as you can stand:
-Organic Garlic Powder
-Organic Turmeric or Curry Powder
-Organic Cayenne Pepper (this will spice it up quick, go easy the first time)
I can’t tell you many times I have eaten this salad! Over a thousand I bet.
And what’s funny is I have several books filled with of raw vegan recipes, but the Giant Salad ended up being my staple meal.
Most days I ate it for lunch and dinner. I didn’t mind eating the same thing every day because it was simple and quick to prepare. I didn’t have to put any time into planning my meals. I knew exactly what to buy at the grocery store every week, and it’s so delicious and full of flavor it never got old!
One final note: The salad really doesn’t have to be “giant”, I make big ones because that’s what it takes to fill me up. Not everyone needs to eat that much. A small version is fine too. Just focus on getting as many nutrient dense vegetables in there as you can and make it big enough to satisfy your appetite.
Finally into the 20th century of Science and Medicine.
The light that works for so many different illnesses.
Here is another article on Alternative treatments for 2017.
As the door opens into the world of Alternative Medicine, it gives hope to many with different illnesses and diseases. A Simple light that helps to alleviate what other medicines and technology could not. The greatest value that I see is that this light offers painless therapy methods. When have you ever heard those words when it comes to illnesses and medicine. It’s always been “No Pain, No Gain”and “There are many side affects to this treatment”. Glad to see that the medical technology is “Seeing The Light”… All The Benefits with No Side Effects. No Damaging drugs to complicate matters. I am very glad to see this technology being used today. Detoxing Using the Bio-Photon Analyzer
The primary function of the Bio-Photon Analyzer is to provide countermeasures to stress on the body’s energetic system.
Broadcast intent, energy, healing frequencies and remedies.
Balance and stabilize the body.
Detoxify the body at a safe rate.
Neutralize chemicals and pesticides that are on food.
Increase the potency of a homeopathic remedy.
Create a unique isopathic remedy from your witness sample.
Helps to reduce the stress on your body’s energetic system!
Supports and reinforces your body’s natural balance for optimal health.
Supports the detoxifying of your body at a safe and gentle rate.
Neutralizes stressful energetic residue that may be contaminating our foods.
Antidotes and neutralizes the energetic effects of chemicals and toxins in household products that may be weakening your body. Neutralizes harmful energies in your living area and land, including sick buildings, water and soil.
An essential tool for Feng Shui practitioners and professionals who want to increase their revenue and produce astounding results for their clients.
Helps to reduce the effects of electromagnetic field that may weaken your immune system.
Customizes the energetic match of a homeopathic remedy
Creates your own individual isopathic restorative structure in just 40 seconds
People who use an analyzer are able to reduce the amount of offensive substances your body is exposed to, therefore reducing the stress on the total system. This process allows the body to spend more of its energy striving for good energy, instead of dealing with substances that are causing disease throughout the body. The additional detoxification created by the analyzer within the system also helps speed the energetic process.
Using the Analyzer will help you feel better, fight off illness easier, reduce your allergic reactions and find the energetic, happier life you are looking for.
How does the ABPA do this?
The ABPA helps to bring a weakened state up to the parameters of good health and balance by creating an energetic signal exactly opposite to the one that is stressing your body (called an isopathic restorative structure). This isopathic restorative structure signal from the ABPA compensates for the stress on the energy field of your body and helps eliminates the stressful negative effect – this gives you back the energy and counters the stress that may be creating imbalance in your body.
The Kids of the US Today Lack the Drive that their Predecessors had Before Them.
By Chad Rhodes August 7, 2017
The kids of the US today lack the drive that their predecessors had before them. The kids are too busy burying their faces in phones, iPad, computers and not their studies. Eating twinkies and cupcakes as they play with their video game or watch TV shows is not educational. It’s leaving a world of couch potatoes, while other countries sail past the US in math, science and technology.
Don’t Go Blaming The Teachers. It Starts At Home With You!!!
OUR CHILDREN NEED OUR HELP…
I agree with the experts on this one, it all starts with the parents. It does not matter if you are a single parent or not. We all know the statistics on both sides of the fence.
The ball starts in your court not the teachers.
If your kids are in the group of kids who are falling behind maybe you need to kick up your game and help your kids or find someone who can.
Which ever it is no more excuses. These kids need help and if we don’t help them now the students learning capabilities will be diminished.
All you Parents on welfare and assistance should have the smartest kids on the block. You are home all day to help them with theirs studies. You know how to find http://www.youtube.com so have them watch math videos instead of games.
Don’t let them spend the rest of their lives in a hole. Help them out and give them the tools they need to succeed in life. You can do it. Start them from a very young age and you will succeed!!!.
For the past 20 years we have seen a rapid decline of intelligence in our children. Kids no longer have to use cursive hand writing, no longer required to take PE classes, failing the basic math and science classes. The schools try to teach them, but they can only get a handful of students to respond to them when they are trying to teach. The classroom in some schools are dumping grounds for the kids. Babysitter for the day. The test scores don’t lie.
High school and college students have lost their footing also. To simply put it, most do not even know how to change a tire or check the oil in a car, let alone science and mathematics.
As we have witnessed in 2017 is that we have LOAFERS in our schools and we are not talking shoes!!! Some think they should be handed these funds on a silver platter with no GPA required and no repayment of their student loans. The stories go on about how our students who we hope to lead our country one day are idiots. There are very few of these college grads who are working and succeeding today.
What the technology world has done to an already spoiled nation has now created it’s own beast of loafing welfare mongers. Don’t Help your kid become dumb as a rock by sitting in front of the TV watching shows or playing video games.
U.S. students’ academic achievement still lags that of their peers in many other countries
How do U.S. students compare with their peers around the world? Recently released data from international math and science assessments indicate that U.S. students continue to rank around the middle of the pack, and behind many other advanced industrial nations.
One of the biggest cross-national tests is the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which every three years measures reading ability, math and science literacy and other key skills among 15-year-olds in dozens of developed and developing countries. The most recent PISA results, from 2015, placed the U.S. an unimpressive 38thout of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which sponsors the PISA initiative, the U.S. ranked 30th in math and 19th in science.
Younger American students fare somewhat better on a similar cross-national assessment, the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study. That study, known as TIMSS, has tested students in grades four and eight every four years since 1995. In the most recent tests, from 2015, 10 countries (out of 48 total) had statistically higher average fourth-grade math scores than the U.S., while seven countries had higher average science scores. In the eighth-grade tests, seven out of 37 countries had statistically higher average math scores than the U.S., and seven had higher science scores. Read The FULL ARTICLE
Sometimes we need to open the windows on our boxes and look out. If we are brave enough we can open the door and step out of the box.
We have been programmed into staying within our boxes. It’s safe and comfortable and society says it’s “the RIGHT thing to do”. With scientists revealing more treatments involving alternative medicine, it’s time we took a look outside. Every day new technology and research is being accomplished you won’t hear about in main stream news.
The struggle has been hard with Alternative Medicine research and technology being suppressed for so many years. Throughout this time we have been told to think it’s a hoax, these doctors are quacks and they are just out to take your money. Yes, in some cases I will agree. But there are real Holistic/Alternative treatments that work and honest doctors providing the treatment.
How do you think the Chinese survived for so many years? Still to this day they rely on Chinese Medicine, herbs, roots and other natural ingredients to make medicines.
If you think about it, if we all just understood how pharmaceutical companies derived their medicines. It would be a financial downfall for the pharmaceutical companies. If only we would ALL look outside that door. We could really change health care as we westerners know it.
For an example is the Medical Marijuana medicine. Big Pharmaceutical companies have lobbied against any form of legalization. They are at their wits end because they cannot patent marijuana and they cannot come up with the absolute formula that works the same as the real thing.
Marijuana is a plant that grows natural on earth and goes back in time as a healing medicine. Pharmaceutical CBD and THC therapies are synthetic.
There are plants on earth that cure illnesses. This is how Big Pharma came up with all the BIG $$$ synthetic medicine, but one drawback is Synthetics come with all the side effects… Some medicines have over 50 pages of CAUTION SIDE EFFECTS.
Natural, there is nothing like the real thing to heal the human body.
I use to be very skeptical, until I actually experienced alternative medicine work. Not cancer but other illnesses. If I would have never opened that door and stepped outside, I would have stayed closed minded to alternative remedies and cures.
I just wanted you to know my eyes are wide open and looking at things differently these days, that’s all. Let’s Explore Our World and Everything It Has To Offer…
Smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ of the body
More than 16 million Americans are living with a disease caused by smoking.
For every person who dies because of smoking, at least 30 people live with a serious smoking-related illness.
Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
Smoking also increases risk for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problems of the immune system, including rheumatoid arthritis.
Smoking is a known cause of erectile dysfunction in males.
Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death.
Worldwide, tobacco use causes nearly 6 million deaths per year, and current trends show that tobacco use will cause more than 8 million deaths annually by 2030.
Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day.
On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.
If smoking continues at the current rate among U.S. youth, 5.6 million of today’s Americans younger than 18 years of age are expected to die prematurely from a smoking-related illness. This represents about one in every 13 Americans aged 17 years or younger who are alive today.
Costs and Expenditures
The tobacco industry spends billions of dollars each year on cigarette advertising and promotions.4
In 2014, more than $9 billion was spent on advertising and promotion of cigarettes—nearly $25 million every day, and about $1 million every hour.
Price discounts account for nearly 80% of all cigarette marketing. These are discounts paid to cigarette retailers or wholesalers in order to reduce the price of cigarettes to consumers.
Smoking costs the United States billions of dollars each year.
Total economic cost of smoking is more than $300 billion a year, including
Nearly $170 billion in direct medical care for adults
More than $156 billion in lost productivity due to premature death and exposure to secondhand smoke
State spending on tobacco prevention and control does not meet CDC-recommended levels.
States have billions of dollars from tobacco taxes and tobacco industry legal settlements to prevent and control tobacco use. However, states currently use a very small amount of these funds for tobacco control programs.
In fiscal year 2017, states will collect $26.6 billion from tobacco taxes and legal settlements but will only spend $491.6 million—less than 2%—on prevention and cessation programs.
Currently, only two states (Alaska and North Dakota) fund tobacco control programs at CDC’s “recommended” level. Only one other state (Oklahoma) provides even half the recommended funding. Two states (Connecticut and New Jersey) have allocated no state funds for tobacco use prevention.
Spending less than 13% (i.e., $3.3 billion) of the $26.6 billion would fund every state tobacco control program at CDC-recommended levels.
Cigarette Smoking in the US
Percentage of U.S. adults aged 18 years or older who were current cigarette smokers in 2015:8
15.1% of all adults (36.5 million people): 16.7% of males, 13.6% of females
Nearly 22 of every 100 non-Hispanic American Indians/Alaska Natives (21.9%)
About 20 of every 100 non-Hispanic multiple race individuals (20.2%)
Nearly 17 of every 100 non-Hispanic Blacks (16.7%)
Nearly 17 of every 100 non-Hispanic Whites (16.6%)
About 10 of every 100 Hispanics (10.1%)
7 of every 100 non-Hispanic Asians (7.0%)
Note: Current cigarette smokers are defined as persons who reported smoking at least 100 cigarettes during their lifetime and who, at the time they participated in a survey about this topic, reported smoking every day or some days.
Thousands of young people start smoking cigarettes every day.
Each day, more than 3,200 people younger than 18 years of age smoke their first cigarette.
Each day, an estimated 2,100 youth and young adults who have been occasional smokers become daily cigarette smokers.
Many adult cigarette smokers want to quit smoking.
Nearly 7 in 10 (68.9%) adult cigarette smokers wanted to stop smoking.
More than 4 in 10 (42.7%) adult cigarette smokers had made a quit attempt in the past year.
Since 2012, the Tips From Former SmokersTM campaign has motivated an estimated 500,000 tobacco smokers to quit for good.
Note: “Made a quit attempt” refers to smokers who reported that they stopped smoking for more than 1 day in the past 12 months because they were trying to quit smoking.
Are they poisoning the world with the chem trails in the skies? Drying our fields and land to the point of flash fires across the country. What is happening to the ocean. The fish are dying at a rapid rate. Autism in children is at an all time high.
I have seen the chem trails. I have heard the military carriers at night. My trees are turning black and dying. I catch my water and my water catchment had a slimy growth and an oily film on the surface of the water, the day after I heard the planes flying over. You might say you hear planes at night. I don’t. Not even helicopters. I hear bugs and the ocean waves at night. This year we broke temperature records and continue too. My grass is dying, avocado trees from lack of water. Usually or should I say “Use Too” rain every day.. Not any more. And if it does its very little.
It’s hard to phantom that our Higher Archy could actually make this mistake and kill our world. A Planned attack against the ?
I recommend you that you drink the Vinegar Cocktail Everyday.
Vinegar, All the Wonderful Things It Can Do!
The greatest gift that will save you from dieting grows on trees and is then fermented into a beautiful bounty of goodness for your body.
Vinegar can do everything from relieving muscle pain from exercise, balancing pH levels, soothing sore throats, and normalizing weight and helping to maintain levels of cholesterol already in the normal range.
Externally, it is effective in supporting healthy skin and hair. Use it topically to give yourself a vinegar facial for toning or clearing up non-cystic acne and exfoliating dry dull skin. Gently rub your skin with a soft cotton ball dipped in vinegar and watch your skin glow!
Use it as a soothing after-bath rinse for cats and dogs to eliminate dry skin. Just as with people, it is also helpful in older animals. The high acidity and powerful enzymes in apple cider vinegar also supports a healthy scalp. Try a rinse of apple cider vinegar after you wash your hair. It gives hair incredible shine and bounce!
It’s so easy to incorporate vinegar into your daily diet.
Get healthy and loose that extra waistline you have been carry around.
When you wake up in the morning just make a delicious cocktail using 2 teaspoons of raw, organic apple cider vinegar, and if you need a sweetener, use organic honey, 100% maple syrup, or molasses to taste. If you are diabetic, use the sweet substitute stevia. I recommend you use only distilled water.
This “Bragg Healthy Cocktail”is designed to flush out wastes that are clogging the organs of elimination, the bowels, lungs, skin, and the kidneys. Take it at least twice a day, and you will start to see changes like increased energy, soft skin, and decreased muscle and joint aches from exercise.
Make sure you use raw, organic vinegar, never dead, distilled vinegar because the natural enzymes, minerals, and nutrients are destroyed in the distilling process. Any vinegar that is clear and has no “mother” (the strand-like substance in the bottom of the bottle) has no nutritional value. Natural raw vinegar should be pungent, with a rich, brownish color and a visible “mother.”
Drinking apple cider vinegar daily, and eating a largely fresh, organic, vegetarian diet, along with following a simple fitness program, will change your life so dramatically you will never go back to your old ways! Get fit, get healthy, and live a long and happy life!
You May Ask: What is Natural Apple Cider Vinegar?
Different from the refined and distilled vinegar usually found in supermarkets, Natural Apple Cider Vinegar is made from fresh, crushed, organically grown apples and allowed to mature in tanks, which boosts its natural fermentation qualities. When mature, it contains a web-like substance, called “mother” that becomes visible when the rich brownish liquid is held to the light.
Just a few more plus’s…
Ohh My Head & Tummy Are you Hungover?
Apple Cider Vinegar is believed to help the Liver dissolve poisonous matter, like to much alcohol. It also balances the pH levels and tops up any deficiency in minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium and iron, which your alcohol soaked body is craving.
Are your finger nails brittle and soft?
Try Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar. It all starts from the inside. You could be missing trace minerals or your PH is off. The nutrients and acids naturally found in ACV are not only great for strengthening nails, they are also known to heal and prevent microbial infections that sometimes cause excessive breakage and yellowing. You can make one of the Bragg ACV recipes or purchase bottled Bragg Healthy cocktail mixes.
The High Dose Oral Vitamin C Protocol for Cancer (and Nearly Every Other Ailment)
I’m really excited about this post because I’m sharing some really cool stuff about Vitamin C that many people do not know. Or maybe I’m wrong and everyone already knows this but me… We’ll see.
This is a powerful anti-cancer protocol and even if you don’t have cancer, you can use this method to determine how much toxic stress is going on inside your body and how high doses of Vitamin C could dramatically improve your health.
Ok so we all now that Vitamin C (asorbic acid) is good for you right? The body doesn’t produce it, so it has to come from food.
You’ve probably also heard that a severe Vitamin C deficiency leads to scurvy. Early symptoms of scurvy are malaise and lethargy. That’s basically a “general feeling of being unwell” along with tiredness or exhaustion. (Does this sound like you?) After a few months comes shortness of breath and bone pain. Further down the road is muscle pain, skin sores, gum disease, loose teeth, wounds not healing, dry mouth, dry eyes, and emotional problems. In the late stages comes jaundice, edema, fever, convulsions, and eventually death.
Sounds fun right? Fortunately scurvy can be CURED with lemons, limes, oranges, and any other Vitamin C containing food.
Don’t Forget to watch the video below
Here’s where it gets interesting…
The cure for scurvy was first published in 1617 in The Surgeon’s Mate by English military surgeon John Woodall. And it was completely ignored by the medical community.
In 1753 (136 years later) naval surgeon James Lind published his discovery in, A Treatise of The Scurvy, which was also ignored. The medical establishment insisted that the testimonials of eating citrus fruit to reverse scurvy were merely “anecdotal” and not based on “scientific evidence”. Sound familiar?
Fortunately James Lind persevered and about 50 years later citrus fruit was finally accepted and used for the prevention and treatment of scurvy on sailing vessels. So, in summary:
The cure for scurvy was ignored for nearly 200 years after its discovery.
Nutrition and natural therapies are still ignored modern medicine. In fact I’d be willing to bet that if you went to see a doctor with some of the symptoms of scurvy that I listed above, you be subjected to a barrage of expensive tests, misdiagnosed, prescribed pharmaceutical drugs, and subjected to treatments for some other disease. This happens all the time. Earlier this year my good friend Tony was told that he probably had cancer or AIDS, turns out it was viral pneumonia. Can you imagine?
But I digress… Let’s get back to Vitamin C.
Here are some common whole food sources of Vitamin C:
Oranges, Kiwi, Canteloupe, Papaya, Strawberries, Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Kale and Peppers.
“Super foods” with the highest concentration of Vitamin C on planet earth are:
Camu Camu Fruit, Amla (Indian Gooseberry), and Acerola Cherries. In that order.
Vitamin C supports nearly every system in your body: your adrenals, your immune system, your cardiovascular system, and more. Perhaps the most important is that it is a neutralizer of free radicals.
There’s been tons of ground-breaking research on high-dose Vitamin C’s powerful healing and anti-cancer effects by the likes of Fred Klenner MD, Irwin Stone, Linus Pauling, and Ewan Cameron. I don’t have time to get into their stories but I wanted to a least give credit where it’s due. Google them in your spare time. There’s a fascinating Vitamin C phenomenon that most of us don’t know about.
The sicker and/or more toxic you are, the more free radicals you have in your body, and as a result, the more Vitamin C your body will absorb and use. The body keeps a small reserve of Vitamin C available for use when there is increased internal demand, but when you are sick this is quickly depleted.
You may have also heard (or experienced) that if you take too much Vitamin C by mouth you get the runs, aka “chach” which is our family’s abbreviation (and code word) for
“Diarrhea Cha Cha Cha”.
A healthy person can take anywhere from 4-15 grams (4,000-15,000 mg) of Vitamin C in a 24 hour period without getting the runs, but a sick person can tolerate anywhere from 10-20 times more. I’m talking even as much as 100-200 grams per day by mouth.
Have you ever taken Vitamin C when you had a cold and it didn’t help? This is probably because you didn’t take near enough.
Here’s where it gets ridiculous… If you ate something that contained “100% of the USRDA (Recommended Daily Allowance ) of Vitamin C” that seems pretty good right?
The USRDA for Vitamin C is only 75 mg. That’s MILLIGRAMS. A normal healthy person can absorb and use between 4,000-15,000 milligrams per day. So the USRDA is way off on this one. 75 mg is basically what someone decided is the absolute minimum amount to keep you from getting scurvy. This is not an amount that promotes health and optimal body function.
One orange has about 150mg of Vitamin C, about 2 times more than the USRDA. And 1 teaspoon of Camu Camu Powder has about 15 times the USRDA of Vitamin C!
Even though you may not have scurvy, I think it’s safe to assume that many of us may not be getting enough Vitamin C in our diets, the lack of which could be a contributor to
a) feeling lousy or b) serious disease.
High Dose Oral Vitamin C Therapy is taking the maximum dose your body can tolerate before you get the runs. This requires finding your threshold and then backing off a little bit for your daily dose. The clinical term is “titrating to bowel tolerance”.
As some of you know, one of the therapies I used to help my body heal from cancer was Vitamin C IV Therapy, which is a common practice in the natural/alternative cancer treatment world. This involves sitting in chair in a practitioner’s office for two hours with an IV drip containing 50 grams or more of Vitamin C. And while this is a very effective method to get a massive dose of Vitamin C without reaching bowel tolerance and to promote healing in the body, it is time consuming and expensive. I was paying $120 a pop, cash money. And in order for it to be the most effective you need to do it 2-3 times per week for many weeks.
My friend Bill, who’s healing his prostate cancer naturally, turned me on to a simple do-it-yourself Oral Vitamin C Protocol that he was put on by an underground cancer treatment expert whose name I cannot use publicly. Bill initially reached bowel tolerance taking 60 grams per day. After two months his tolerance was down to less than 30 grams per day. That’s a very good sign.
The Vitamin C Toxicity Test & Protocol
This is something everyone should do. Now clearly no one wants diarrhea on purpose, but in this case it can give you some immediate feedback about your internal condition. And it’s super cheap to do!
The simple way to find your tolerance is to take 2-3 grams of Vitamin C powder or crystals (ascorbic acid) every two hours mixed in 8 oz of water. That will give you about 12-18 grams the first day. Make sure you keep track of your doses. Vitamin C powder is highly concentrated. 1 teaspoon is usually about 5 grams of Vitamin C.
The goal is to find your 24 hour limit, not your single dose limit.
The half-life of Vitamin C in the body is about 30 minutes. That means about an hour after you take Vitamin C, your body has used up most of it. So an important key to this protocol is to keep your body saturated with C all day. Dosing every 1-2 hours is ideal.
If you reach bowel tolerance in the first 24 hours, reduce the total dose by 20-25% and continue to take that amount every day as a maintenance dose (this may be for several days or weeks) until you reach bowel tolerance again at that level. Then reduce by 20% again and continue with that dose until you hit bowel tolerance, and so on.
It works the opposite of what you would expect because you don’t build up a tolerance. The healthier you become, the lower your bowel tolerance for Vitamin C will go.
If you reach bowel tolerance at 10-15 grams or less per day, you’re considered to be in very good shape health wise.
If you follow the steps above and do not reach bowel tolerance the first day, continue to up the dose each day until you get there. If you are seriously sick you may need to dose every hour or 1/2 hour as indicated in the chart below. As you get close to bowel tolerance you will get gassy and should have soft stool. That means you’re very close to your body’s limit and should reduce your dosage a bit.
Here’s a dosage chart from the late and legendary Dr. Robert Cathcart MD, who treated 9000+ patients with Vitamin C!
TABLE I – USUAL BOWEL TOLERANCE DOSES
CONDITIONGrams Per 24 HoursDoses Per 24 Hours
normal 4 – 15 4 – 6
mild cold 30 – 60 6 – 10
severe cold 60 – 100+ 8 – 15
influenza 100 – 150 8 – 20
ECHO, coxsackievirus 100 – 150 8 – 20
mononucleosis 150 – 200+ 12 – 25
viral pneumonia 100 – 200+ 12 – 25
hay fever, asthma 15 – 50 4 – 8
food allergy 0.5 – 50 4 – 8
burn, injury, surgery 25 – 150+ 6 – 20
anxiety, exercise and
other mild stresses 15 – 25 4 – 6
cancer 15 – 100 4 – 15
ankylosing spondylitis 15 – 100 4 – 15
Reiter’s syndrome 15 – 60 4 – 10
acute anterior uveitis 30 – 100 4 – 15
rheumatoid arthritis 15 – 100 4 – 15
bacterial infections 30 – 200+ 10 – 25
infectious hepatitis 30 – 100 6 – 15
candidiasis 15 – 200+ 6 – 25
Something else worth noting in the above chart: If you are under chronic stress or engage in athletic activities like running, weight training, etc. you are likely to have an increased need for Vitamin C and your tolerance will be higher. Even if you are healthy.
Dr. Cathcart also notes that low dose vitamin c had basically no effect, but high dose vitamin c, when taken at 80-90% of bowel tolerance, produced a significant and dramatic reduction of symptoms in his patients.
When I first tried this protocol a couple months ago I didn’t reach bowel tolerance until I got to around 34 grams. I worked my way up to taking 12 grams three times per day. I have no idea why my tolerance was that high. I workout 3-5 days per week which would increase my tolerance but perhaps I also had something going on internally… who knows?
Earlier this morning I took 7.5 grams and it produced bowel tolerance for me a couple hours later which actually interrupted my work on this post. Clearly my tolerance is down and if Dr. Cathcart is right, my internal health has improved.
Another one: My kids came home with colds from school two weeks ago. Then my wife got it. One morning I started to feel cold symptoms as well so I took 10 grams of Vitamin c. I felt great all day. Then close to bedtime I started to feel the symptoms again so I took another 10 grams. I did this every day for about a week. I would feel the symptoms in the morning, but I quickly crushed them with 10 grams of vitamin c. Some days I would take a dose around lunch time as well if I remembered. I was taking 20-30 grams per day for most of the week, I felt good, I was close to bowel tolerance, and the cold never developed. Since then, I’ve done this more times than I can count. Works every time.
What form to take?
Vitamin C comes in several different forms: pure asorbic acid and buffered with minerals.
Buffered C contains mineral salts like calcium asorbate, magnesium asorbate, and sodium asorbate. Buffered C is more alkaline but the excess minerals could be problematic if you are taking mega doses.
I compared three different types (buffered and pure asorbic acid) to see if they had different effects but my tolerance was basically the same for all three. Having said that…
Solaray Vitamin C Powder is 100% pure asorbic acid so it’s extremely tart and citric. Vitamin Shoppe Buffered C-Complex tastes chalky, not citric.
Thompson C Buffered Crystals is buffered with calcium asorbate, it’s citric but not as strong as the pure crystals.
Dr. Cathcart recommends taking pure asorbic acid for the high dose oral protocol. Dr. Thomas Levy recommends sodium asorbate. I think it makes sense to rotate between different types.
*After writing this post it was brought to my attention that most of the asorbic acid in vitamin C powder is made in China from GMO corn. If that is a concern for you, there are several brands of non-GMO vitamin C powders.
Treatment for Asperger’s syndrome strives to improve your child’s abilities to interact with other people and thus to function effectively in society and be self-sufficient. Each child with Asperger’s syndrome has differences in the number and severity of symptoms, so treatment should be designed to meet individual needs and available family resources. Specific treatments are based on symptoms.
Start by contacting your local school district to find out which services are available for your child. Become informed about your child’s educational rights. Federal law requires public schools to provide appropriate educational services for people ages 3 to 21 who have disabilities (including Asperger’s). Also, there may be state and local laws or policies to aid children with Asperger’s.
You will meet with school personnel to identify goals and establish an individualized education program (IEP). IEPs are designed to fit the child’s specific needs based on the evaluation of his or her level of disability.
Here is some soothing music to help calm and sooth when the ASD patient becomes restless or upset. Great for when they are having a melt down. The total transformation is a mind blowing. It will also give the care taker of the ASD patient a good restful sleep also and can calm you down during a melt down. That way you have control over your emotions and the ASD patient to relax and become grounded again. This is better than the medications for instant relief. They have found if you play this at night, that the next day is much calmer for them.
CAUTION: Do not play if you are driving a vehicle or operating machinery. The person it is recommended for can use headphones or ear buds in vehicles. Or If Emergency melt down pull off the highway and park the vehicle and play the music and turn it to earbuds once you have situation under control.
Here is some interesting news I have discovered over that last couple of months.
Since I do reviews on products and such I actually have to use the products. Good or Bad, and I must say I am very impressed with Apple Cider Vinegar and Vinegar period. I was skeptical at first but have seen the Light as they say…
Plain Regular Cheap Apple Cider Vinegar I use for your body:
ACV as a rinse after your bath or shower. 1 teaspoon of vinegar in a glass 16 oz. (plastic preferred), just in case you drop it. Pre-Warning NOW!!! Do Not do your head until last. You do not want to open your eyes after pouring the vinegar over your head. It Burns so bad.. LOL… Trust Me I know from experience… I am far from perfect…
No, you will not smell like vinegar the next day. Maybe for 30 minutes after you get out of the shower. Actually it will reduce your body odor. I take my shower right before bed. I feel the vinegar helps me stay cooler at night and sleep better. You ladies going through menopause might want to try this… I am 56 yrs. And I half reduce my nights sweat in half if not more. I also love the way my skin is so smooth and tight in the morning.
As we age so does our skin unfortunately. I am always looking for ways to improve my overall body these days. It’s like sometimes I wake up and just say “WOW” Really!!! You’re doing this to me!!! TODAY!!!
My blonde hair started going dirty grey but what I noticed after I started using ACV my hair started to lighten and became softer and thicker.
If your nails are brittle, it will strengthen your nails
I think this is the best one, Counters Aging. Along with a good diet and my 7 minute workout I should be spinning the years right off…
There are so many minerals that our bodies need from vinegar. We just are no longer getting them from our food that has been grown in pesticide flooded land and stripped of the minerals the soil had to offer. Now most farms are just a growing base and no more. You are better off growing a garden. Build a green house and grow your own…
Hemorrhoids Problems: Take a cotton ball and gentle apply to the Hemorrhoids. It will sting, but the pain subsides and the Hemorrhoids shrink. You can even get rid of them completely by drinking the Bragg’s ACV w/ “Mother” and that helps tremendously heal you from the inside out. This comes highly recommended to treat this problem.
Asperger’s syndrome is a developmental condition in which people have difficulties understanding how to interact socially. A diagnosis is best made with input from parents, doctors, teachers, and other caregivers who know or who have observed the child. Asperger’s syndrome is diagnosed when specific criteria are met. These include:
Your doctor will take a medical history by asking questions about your child’s development, including information about motor development, language, areas of special interest, and social interactions. He or she will also ask about the mother’s pregnancy and the family’s history of medical conditions.
Testing can help your doctor find out whether your child’s problem is related to Asperger’s syndrome. Your primary care provider may refer your child to a specialist for testing, including:
Psychological assessment. Intellectual function and learning style are evaluated. IQ (intelligence quotient) and motor skills tests are common. Personality assessment tests may also be done.
Communication assessment. Speech and formal language are evaluated. Children are tested to find out how well they understand and use language to communicate ideas. Your doctor will also test for understanding of nonverbal forms of communication and nonliteral language skills, such as understanding of humor or metaphor. He or she will listen to your child’s voice for volume, stress, and pitch.
Psychiatric examination. Your doctor may examine your child’s family and peer relationships, reactions to new situations, and the ability to understand the feelings of others and types of indirect communication such as teasing and sarcasm. Your doctor may want to observe your child at home and at school. He or she may also look for conditions such as anxiety and depression, which are often found in people with Asperger’s syndrome.
Researchers have not yet found a way to prevent Asperger’s syndrome. Some advocacy groups claim the measles–mumps–rubella (MMR) vaccine causes Asperger’s and autism. But numerous studies have not found a link between these conditions and the vaccine.2 Doctors recommend that you have your children immunized, because not doing so puts them and others in your community at risk for serious diseases and even death. (Some say that statement is a cover up)
Asperger’s Syndrome – Home Treatment:
You can best serve your child by learning about Asperger’s syndrome and providing a supportive and loving home environment. Remember that your child, just like every other child, has his or her own strengths and weaknesses and needs as much support, patience, and understanding as you can give.
Educating yourself about the condition and about what to expect is an important part of helping your child develop independence and succeed outside of his or her home. Learn about Asperger’s syndrome by talking to your doctor or contacting Asperger’s organizations. A good source is OASIS @ MAAP: The Online Asperger Syndrome Information and Support Center at http://www.aspergersyndrome.org. Learning about Asperger’s will reduce your and your family members’ stress and help your child succeed.
The following are some suggestions on how to help your child who has Asperger’s syndrome. Some of the ideas will be helpful, and some may not work for you. Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to continue to learn will all help you as you raise your child.
Children with Asperger’s syndrome benefit from daily routines for meals, homework, and bedtime. They also like specific rules, and consistent expectations mean less stress and confusion for them.
Many people with Asperger’s syndrome do best with verbal (rather than nonverbal) teaching and assignments. A direct, concise, and straightforward manner is also helpful.
People with Asperger’s syndrome often have trouble understanding the “big picture” and tend to see part of a situation rather than the whole. That’s why they often benefit from a parts-to-whole teaching approach, starting with part of a concept and adding to it to demonstrate encompassing ideas.
Visual supports, including schedules and other written materials that serve as organizational aids, can be helpful.
Be aware that background noises, such as a clock ticking or the hum of fluorescent lighting, may be distracting to your child.
Children with autism spectrum disorders (which include Asperger’s syndrome) may be especially interested in video games, computers, or other screen-based media such as TV. If possible, keep televisions, video games, and computers out of your child’s bedroom. When children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) have these devices in their bedroom, they are more likely to sleep fewer hours. This is especially true when video games are in the bedroom. If your child doesn’t get enough sleep, his or her ASD symptoms may be worse.
Children with Asperger’s syndrome often mature more slowly. Don’t always expect them to “act their age.”
Try to identify stress triggers and avoid them if possible. Prepare your child in advance for difficult situations, and teach him or her ways to cope. For example, teach your child coping skills for dealing with change or new situations.
Strategies for developing social skills:
Your child may not understand the social norms and rules that come more naturally to other children. Provide clear explanations of why certain behaviors are expected, and teach rules for those behaviors.
Encourage your child to learn how to interact with people and what to do when spoken to, and explain why it is important. Give lots of praise, especially when he or she uses a social skill without prompting.
Practice activities, such as games or question-and-answer sessions, that call for taking turns or putting yourself in the other person’s place.
Help your child understand others’ feelings by role-playing and watching and discussing human behaviors seen in movies or on television. Provide a model for your child by telling him or her about your own feelings and reactions to those feelings.
Teach your child how to read and respond appropriately to social cues. Give him or her “stock” phrases to use in various social situations, such as when being introduced. You can also teach your child how to interact by role-playing.
Foster involvement with others, especially if your child tends to be a loner.
Teach your child about public and private places, so that he or she learns what is appropriate in both circumstances. For example, hugging may not be appropriate at school but is usually fine at home.
Strategies for school:
Use visual systems, such as calendars, checklists, and notes, to help define and organize schoolwork.
Orient your child to the school setting. Before the school year starts, take time to “walk through” your child’s daily schedule. You can also use pictures to make your child familiar with the new settings before school starts.
Be aware of and try to protect your child from bullying and teasing. Talk to your child’s teacher or school counselor about educating classmates about Asperger’s syndrome.
Ask your child’s teacher to seat your child next to classmates who are sensitive to your child’s special needs. These classmates might also serve as “buddies” during recess, at lunch, and at other times.
Encourage your child’s teacher to include your child in classroom activities that emphasize his or her best academic skills, such as reading, vocabulary, and art.
Set up homework routines for your child by doing homework at a specific time and place every day. This will help your child learn about time management.
Use rewards to motivate your child. Allow him or her to watch TV or play a favorite video game or give points toward a “special interest” gift when he or she performs well.
Some children with Asperger’s have poor handwriting. Typing schoolwork on a computer may be one way to make homework easier. Using computers can also help children improve fine motor skills and organize information. Occupational therapy may also be helpful.
Asperger’s syndrome is a lifelong condition, although it tends to stabilize over time, and improvements are often seen. Adults usually have a better understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses. They are able to learn social skills, including how to read others’ social cues. Many people with Asperger’s syndrome marry and have children.
Some traits that are typical of Asperger’s syndrome, such as attention to detail and focused interests, can increase chances of university and career success. Many people with Asperger’s seem to be fascinated with technology, and a common career choice is engineering. But scientific careers are by no means the only areas where people with Asperger’s excel. Indeed, many respected historical figures have had symptoms of Asperger’s, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, and Thomas Jefferson.
Most symptoms persist through the teen years. And although teens with Asperger’s can begin to learn those social skills they lack, communication often remains difficult. They will probably continue to have difficulty “reading” others’ behavior.
Your teen with Asperger’s syndrome (like other teens) will want friends but may feel shy or intimidated when approaching other teens. He or she may feel “different” from others. Although most teens place emphasis on being and looking “cool,” teens with Asperger’s may find it frustrating and emotionally draining to try to fit in. They may be immature for their age and be naive and too trusting, which can lead to teasing and bullying.
All of these difficulties can cause teens with Asperger’s to become withdrawn and socially isolated and to have depression or anxiety.1
But some teens with Asperger’s syndrome are able to make and keep a few close friends through the school years. Some of the classic Asperger’s traits may also work to the benefit of your teen. Teens with Asperger’s are typically uninterested in following social norms, fads, or conventional thinking, allowing creative thinking and the pursuit of original interests and goals. Their preference for rules and honesty may lead them to excel in the classroom and as citizens.
Although there are many possible symptoms of Asperger’s syndrome, the main symptom is significant trouble with social situations. Your child may have mild to severe symptoms or have a few or many of these symptoms. Because of the wide variety of symptoms, no two children with Asperger’s are alike.
Symptoms during childhood:
Parents often first notice the symptoms of Asperger’s syndrome when their child starts preschool and begins to interact with other children. Children with Asperger’s syndrome may:
Not pick up on social cues and may lack inborn social skills, such as being able to read others’ body language, start or maintain a conversation, and take turns talking.
Dislike any changes in routines.
Appear to lack empathy.
Be unable to recognize subtle differences in speech tone, pitch, and accent that alter the meaning of others’ speech. So your child may not understand a joke or may take a sarcastic comment literally. And his or her speech may be flat and hard to understand because it lacks tone, pitch, and accent.
Have a formal style of speaking that is advanced for his or her age. For example, the child may use the word “beckon” instead of “call” or the word “return” instead of “come back.”
Talk a lot, usually about a favorite subject. One-sided conversations are common. Internal thoughts are often verbalized.
Avoid eye contact or stare at others.
Have unusual facial expressions or postures.
Be preoccupied with only one or few interests, which he or she may be very knowledgeable about. Many children with Asperger’s syndrome are overly interested in parts of a whole or in unusual activities, such as designing houses, drawing highly detailed scenes, or studying astronomy. They may show an unusual interest in certain topics such as snakes, names of stars, or dinosaurs.
Have delayed motor development. Your child may be late in learning to use a fork or spoon, ride a bike, or catch a ball. He or she may have an awkward walk. Handwriting is often poor.
Have heightened sensitivity and become overstimulated by loud noises, lights, or strong tastes or textures. For more information about these symptoms, see sensory processing disorder.
A child with one or two of these symptoms does not necessarily have Asperger’s syndrome. To be diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a child must have a combination of these symptoms and significant trouble with social situations.
Although the condition is in some ways similar to autism, a child with Asperger’s syndrome typically has normal language and intellectual development. Also, those with Asperger’s syndrome typically make more of an effort than those with autism to make friends and engage in activities with others.
Many children with Asperger’s syndrome also have coexisting conditions and may have symptoms of these conditions also. They include:
Don’t Be Fooled By The EGGS Cover…
Eggs are so nutritious that they’re often referred to as “nature’s multivitamin.”
They also have unique antioxidants and powerful brain nutrients that many people are deficient in.
Here are some reasons why eggs are among the healthiest foods on the planet.
Whole Eggs Are Among The Most Nutritious Foods on Earth
One whole egg contains an amazing range of nutrients.
Just imagine… the nutrients in there are enough to turn a single fertilized cell into an entire baby chicken.
Eggs are loaded with vitamins, minerals, high quality proteins, good fats and various other lesser-known nutrients.
One large egg contains (1):
Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin): 9% of the RDA.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): 15% of the RDA.
Vitamin A: 6% of the RDA.
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid): 7% of the RDA.
Selenium: 22% of the RDA.
Eggs also contain small amounts of almost every vitamin and mineral required by the human body… including calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, manganese, Vitamin E, Folate and many more.
A large egg contains 77 calories, with 6 grams of quality protein, 5 grams of fat and trace amounts of carbohydrates.
It’s very important to realize that almost all the nutrients are contained in the yolk, the white contains only protein.
That should make you want to eat eggs right now. But here are some more reasons why Eggs are the Healthiest Food on Earth.
Eggs Improve Your Cholesterol Profile and do NOT Raise Your Risk of Cardiovascular Disease
The main reason people have been warned about eggs is that they’re loaded with cholesterol.
One large egg contains 212 mg of cholesterol, which is a LOT compared to most other foods.
However, just because a food contains cholesterol doesn’t mean that it will raise the bad cholesterol in the blood.
The liver actually produces cholesterol, every single day. If you eat cholesterol, then your liver produces less. If you don’t eat cholesterol, then your liver produces more of it.
The thing is, many studies show that eggs actually improve your cholesterol profile.
Eggs tend to raise HDL (the “good”) cholesterol and they tend to change the LDL (the “bad”) cholesterol to a large subtype which is not associated with an increased risk of heart disease (2, 3, 4).
One study discovered that 3 whole eggs per day reduced insulin resistance, raised HDL and increased the size of LDL particles in men and women with metabolic syndrome (5).
Multiple studies have examined the effects of egg consumption on the risk of cardiovascular disease and found no association between the two (6, 7, 8).
However, some studies do show an increased risk of cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients. This needs further research though and probably doesn’t apply on a low-carb diet, which can in many cases reverse type II diabetes (9, 10, 11).
Bottom Line: Studies show that eggs actually improve the cholesterol profile. They raise HDL (the good) cholesterol and increase the size of LDL particles, which should lower the risk of heart disease.
Eggs Are Loaded With Choline, an Important Nutrient For The Brain
Choline is a lesser-known nutrient that is often grouped with the B-complex vitamins.
Choline is an essential nutrient for human health and is needed for various processes in the body.
It is required to synthesize the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and is also a component of cell membranes.
A low choline intake has been implicated in liver diseases, cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders (12).
This nutrient may be especially important for pregnant women. Studies show that a low choline intake can raise the risk of neural tube defects and lead to decreased cognitive function in the offspring (13).
In a dietary survey in the U.S. from 2003-2004, over 90% of people ate less than the daily recommended amount of choline (14)!
The best sources of choline in the diet are egg yolks and beef liver. One large egg contains 113 mg of Choline.
Eggs Contain High Quality Proteins With a Perfect Amino Acid Profile
Proteins are the main building blocks of the body and serve both structural and functional purposes.
They consist of amino acids that are linked together, kind of like beads on a string, then folded into complex shapes.
There are about 21 amino acids that the body uses to build its proteins.
The body can not produce 9 of these amino acids, which are deemed as “essential” and must be gotten from the diet.
The quality of a protein source is determined by its relative amounts of these essential amino acids. A protein source that contains all of them in the right ratios is a good source of protein.
Eggs are among the best sources of protein in the diet. In fact, the biological value (a measure of protein quality) is often evaluated by comparing it to eggs, which are given the perfect score of 100.
Eggs Are Loaded With Lutein and Zeaxanthin, Which Protect The Eyes
There are two antioxidants in eggs that can have powerful protective effects on the eyes.
They are called Lutein and Zeaxanthin, both found in the yolk.
Lutein and Zeaxanthin tend to accumulate in the retina, the sensory part of the eye.
These antioxidants significantly reduce the risk of Macular Degeneration and Cataracts, which are among the leading causes of vision impairment and blindness in the elderly (15, 16, 17).
In one study, eating 1.3 egg yolks per day for 4.5 weeks increased blood levels of Zeaxanthin by 114-142% and Lutein by 28-50% (18).
Eggs For Breakfast Can Help You Lose Body Fat
Eggs contain only trace amounts of carbohydrates, but plenty of protein and fat.
They score very high on a scale called the Satiety Index, which is a measure of how much foods contribute to satiety (19).
For this reason, it is not surprising to see studies where eating eggs for breakfast leads to fat loss.
In one study, 30 overweight or obese women consumed either a breakfast of eggs or a breakfast of bagels. Both breakfasts had the same amount of calories.
The women in the egg group felt more full and ate less calories for the rest of the day and for the next 36 hours (20).
In another study that went on for 8 weeks, eating eggs for breakfast lead to significant weight improvements compared to the same amount of calories from bagels. The egg group (21):
Lost 65% more body weight.
Lost 16% more body fat.
Had a 61% greater reduction in BMI.
Had a 34% greater reduction in waist circumference (a good marker for the dangerous abdominal fat).
Not All Eggs Are The Same
It’s important to keep in mind that not all eggs are created equal.
Hens are often raised in factories, caged and fed grain-based feed that alters the final nutrient composition of the eggs. It is best to buy Omega-3 enriched or pastured eggs, they are more nutritious and healthier.
However, conventional supermarket eggs are still a good choice if you can’t afford or access the others.
To top things off, eggs are cheap, taste awesome and go with almost any food.
Eggs really are an egg-ceptional super-food.
Eggs Scrambled with Onion, Garlic and Sweet Cherry Tomatoes
Sauté 1/4 sweet onion and a smashed garlic clove over medium-high heat in 1 teaspoon canola or olive oil until almost soft. Add a handful of chopped tomatoes to the pan (or any other vegetables you happen to have, such as chopped spinach, kale, mushrooms or peppers) and cook for another 5 minutes. Turn down the heat to very low. In a separate bowl, whisk two eggs. Pour eggs into the pan containing the onion, garlic and tomato — add 1 ounce low-fat cheese, if you wish. Stir continuously until eggs are cooked. Pour over toasted, whole rye bread. Bon Appitite…
The #ImpactAgenda is upon us. Every government funding agency I know is looking for impact outside the academic sphere. So, I’ve been thinking about impact a lot lately. One of the best ways to learn how to do things better is to look at how they’re done in an allied industry. The best example of […]
