VIDEO BELOW STORY

Vietnamese Corona virus TikTok songs taking over the internet as a challenge.

Thanks to YouTuber: Nikki Châu Ngọc Trân who translated this into English.

IN HER OWN WORDS, Nikki Châu Ngọc Trân

Hi everyone. I came across the video and liked it so much, I translated the lyrics into English and add as subtitles. The original video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtulL….

My English translation is here. Vietnamese original text is below. I took some tiny creative license with the translation to make the text flow in English, such as “fight coronavirus” instead of “push back coronavirus”.

VIDEO CONTEXT:
Ghen means jealous. Cô Vy appears to be a word play on Covid. Cô means lady. Vy is a common Vietnamese name. The video is portraying the virus as someone who’s trying to come between a couple. At the beginning of the video the couple was fighting and at the end they came together. And yes, the video does perpetuate gender roles. (This song is based on another song the same musicians made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vk8_0…)

TRANSLATED TEXT:
“‘Ghen Cô Vy’ is creation of the Vietnamese Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health, in collaboration with musicians Khac Hung, Min, and Erik.

Through this project, we aim to empower and strengthen trust in the community, so that we can join hands to combat COVID-19 (aka nCoV-2019).

In this critical moment of fighting the virus, we hope the song will ignite our spirits and reduce stress for the frontline fighters of this war: the team of experts, physicians, health workers and millions of other workers who are in the frontline of exposure and daily struggle with this disease.

Let our community take the initiative in implementing preventive habits as recommended by health experts, and let us spread goodness and kindness to win the disease together.”

Important Tests Your Doctor Should Run For Your Annual Physical

IF You Are Over 40 or pregnant, demand these tests be done during your annual physical.

TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH. You are the best manager for your health.

  • High-Sensitivity C-reactive Protein Test The level of C-reactive protein (CRP), which can be measured in your blood, increases when there’s inflammation in your body. Your doctor might check your C-reactive protein level for infections or for other medical conditions.
  • Duplex Ultrasound The purpose of this study is early identification of reduced arteriovenous fistula and Graft blood flow by Doppler ultrasound and evaluation of doppler US as a mean of vascular access blood flow surveillance.
  • Electron Beam Computed Tomogram Electron beam tomography (EBT) is a specific form of computed tomography (CT) in which the X-ray tube is not mechanically spun in order to rotate the source of X-ray photons. This different design was explicitly developed to better image heart structures which never stop moving, performing a complete cycle of movement with each heart beat.
  • Homocysteine Test  A homocysteine test measures the amount of homocysteine in your blood. Homocysteine is a type of amino acid, a chemical your body uses to make proteins. Normally, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and folic acid break down homocysteine and change it into other substances your body needs. There should be very little homocysteine left in the bloodstream.
  • Isotope Treadmill Stress Test An IV is started in your arm before your treadmill stress test. A chemical called an isotope (radioactive substance) will be put in the IV during the test. The isotope sticks to your blood cells and will help show images of your heart and how much blood gets into your heart muscle).
  • Fasting blood glucose test  The glucose tolerance test, also known as the oral glucose tolerance test, measures your body’s response to sugar (glucose). The glucose tolerance test can be used to screen for type 2 diabetes. More commonly, a modified version of the glucose tolerance test is used to diagnose gestational diabetes — a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy.
  • Colonoscopy A colonoscopy (koe-lun-OS-kuh-pee) is an exam used to detect changes or abnormalities in the large intestine (colon) and rectum.
  • DEXA Scan A bone density test determines if you have osteoporosis — a disorder characterized by bones that are more fragile and more likely to break.
  • The PSA Test  Prostate cancer test for men

UPDATE: Chinese Doctor Who Issued Early Warning on Coronavirus Dies

REPORTED BY: THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, Chao Deng, Josh Chin 134 mins ago

corona virus sars mers emergency teamWUHAN, China—A Chinese doctor who became a folk hero after he was arrested for warning about the dangers of the deadly new virus now spreading around the world died on Friday after becoming infected with it.
Li Wenliang, a 33-year-old ophthalmologist based in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, had captivated the country and triggered an extraordinary outpouring of emotion as he ailed.

In social-media posts, many Chinese directed their frustration at government officials who many believe didn’t respond quickly enough despite clear evidence of the developing epidemic. Millions of people flocked to a live stream about Dr. Li that was run by local media outside the hospital where he was being treated.

“An all-out effort to save him was unsuccessful,” the hospital said. “We deeply grieve the loss.”

The World Health Organization on Thursday reported 28,285 confirmed cases globally, including more than 3,700 new ones. A total of 565 people have died, it said. Singapore, which has the second-largest number of cases outside China, reported two new infections, including one with no apparent link to China.
Chinese state media reported Thursday night that Dr. Li’s heart had stopped at around 9:30 p.m., and that he was immediately put on life support. The hospital where Dr. Li was being treated later said authorities were still fighting to keep him alive and then announced his death at 2:58 a.m. Friday.
After initial reports of Dr. Li’s death began circulating online late Thursday in China, including from the official social-media accounts of Communist Party publications, he was mourned and celebrated as a symbol of the public’s determination to find answers to still-unanswered questions about how officials first responded to the outbreak.

bacon

Are your “Meat Cravings” driving you wild. Feeling a little animal instincts coming on in the middle of the night… HOWL, HOWL

The all new wearable meat patch is here… This is for all you veggie heads that can’t handle being without… It’s all about the flavor.

The All new “Scratch and Sniff” Meat Lovers Patch… Every time you scratch it, you get a burst of bacon… Ummmm Yummy.

This could be dangerous for models and those types of people who don’t eat in the first place. Just think the new diet concept…

Everyone at the Grammy’s can wear the snacks in a patch under their sleeves.

Meet the mad scientist and creator Prof. Charles Spence. He is an experimental psychologist at the University of Oxford. He is the head of the Crossmodal Research group which specializes in the research about the integration of information across different sensory modalities. He also teaches Experimental Psychology to undergraduates at Somerville College. He is currently a consultant for a number of multinational companies advising on various aspects of multisensory design. He has also conducted research on human-computer interaction issues on the Crew Work Station on the European Space Shuttle, and currently works on problems associated with the design of foods that maximally stimulate the senses, and with the effect of the indoor environment on mood, well-being, and performance. Charles has published more than 500 articles. So as you can see he knows his shit.

Finally this research can be viable with todays “meatless market”. A plant based company asked the “Flavor Professor” to create the patch for them. Hoping this will help bring the “Meat Eaters over to the Vegan side.

Well that’s our Science information for today….

Bon Appetite…

Detoxing Using the Bio-Photon Analyzer

The primary function of the Bio-Photon Analyzer is to provide countermeasures to stress on the body’s energetic system.

  • Broadcast intent, energy, healing frequencies and remedies.
  • Balance and stabilize the body.
  • Detoxify the body at a safe rate.
  • Neutralize chemicals and pesticides that are on food.
  • Increase the potency of a homeopathic remedy.
  • Create a unique isopathic remedy from your witness sample.
  • Helps to reduce the stress on your body’s energetic system!
  • Supports and reinforces your body’s natural balance for optimal health.
  • Supports the detoxifying of your body at a safe and gentle rate.
  • Neutralizes stressful energetic residue that may be contaminating our foods.
  • Antidotes and neutralizes the energetic effects of chemicals and toxins in household products that may be weakening your body. Neutralizes harmful energies in your living area and land, including sick buildings, water and soil.
  • An essential tool for Feng Shui practitioners and professionals who want to increase their revenue and produce astounding results for their clients.
  • Helps to reduce the effects of electromagnetic field that may weaken your immune system.
  • Customizes the energetic match of a homeopathic remedy
  • Creates your own individual isopathic restorative structure in just 40 seconds

People who use an analyzer are able to reduce the amount of offensive substances your body is exposed to, therefore reducing the stress on the total system. This process allows the body to spend more of its energy striving for good energy, instead of dealing with substances that are causing disease throughout the body. The additional detoxification created by the analyzer within the system also helps speed the energetic process.

Using the Analyzer will help you feel better, fight off illness easier, reduce your allergic reactions and find the energetic, happier life you are looking for.

How does the ABPA do this?

The ABPA helps to bring a weakened state up to the parameters of good health and balance by creating an energetic signal exactly opposite to the one that is stressing your body (called an isopathic restorative structure). This isopathic restorative structure signal from the ABPA compensates for the stress on the energy field of your body and helps eliminates the stressful negative effect – this gives you back the energy and counters the stress that may be creating imbalance in your body.

After watching this, your brain will not be the same

After watching this, your brain will not be the same

Dr. Lara Boyd | TEDxVancouver

Published on Dec 15, 2015

In a classic research-based TEDx Talk, Dr. Lara Boyd describes how neuroplasticity gives you the power to shape the brain you want.

Our knowledge of the brain is evolving at a breathtaking pace, and Dr. Lara Boyd is positioned at the cutting edge of these discoveries. In 2006, she was recruited by the University of British Columbia to become the Canada Research Chair in Neurobiology and Motor Learning. Since that time she has established the Brain Behaviour Lab, recruited and trained over 40 graduate students, published more than 80 papers and been awarded over $5 million in funding.

Dr. Boyd’s efforts are leading to the development of novel, and more effective, therapeutics for individuals with brain damage, but they are also shedding light on broader applications. By learning new concepts, taking advantage of opportunities, and participating in new activities, you are physically changing who you are, and opening up a world of endless possibility.

Brain Plasticity in Children with Learning Disabilities

Dr. Lara Boyd: Brain Plasticity in Children with Learning Disabilities

Published on Nov 6, 2014

Dr. Lara Boyd speaking at the Neuroplasticity and Education: Strengthening the Connection conference presented by The Eaton Educational Group at the Four Seasons Hotel on October 24th, 2014.

How do we learn? And why do some of us learn things more easily than others?
These are some of the questions that have driven Dr. Lara Boyd, a brain researcher at the University of British Columbia, to better understand the inner workings of the brain. In her Ted Talk, “After Watching This, Your Brain Will Not Be The Same,” Boyd describes how neuroplasticity gives you the power to shape the brain you want.
She notes that the knowledge we were once given about the brain is either incomplete or entirely incorrect.

What we know about the brain is changing at a breathtaking pace, and much of what we thought we knew and understood about the brain turns out to be not true, or incomplete. Now some of these misconceptions are more obvious than others. For example, we used to think that after childhood the brain did not, really could not change. And it turns out that nothing can be farther than the truth.

Another misconception about the brain is that you only use parts of it at any given time and silent when you do nothing. Well, this is also untrue. It turns out that even when you are at a rest, and thinking of nothing, your brain is highly active.

Boyd notes that technological advances like MRI have given her the tools to make such discoveries, as well as many others. But the most intriguing fact regarding the brain she has come across thus far is that, every time you learn a new fact or skill, your brain changes. This is called neuroplasticity.
Boyd says that there are three contributing aspects of neuroplastic change: chemical, structural, and functional:

So your brain can change in three very basic ways to support learning. And the first is chemical. So brain actually functions by transferring chemicals signals between brain cells, what we call neurons, and this triggers series of actions and reactions. So to support learning your brain can increase the amount of the concentrations of these chemical signaling that’s taking place between neurons. Now because this kind of change can happen rapidly, this supports short term memory or the short term improvement in the performance of a motor skill.

The second way that the brain can change to support learning is by altering its structure. So during learning the brain can change the connections between neurons. Now here the physical structure of the brain is actually changing so this takes a bit more time. These types of changes are related to the long term memory, the long term improvement in a motor skill. . . .

Now the last way that your brain can change to support learning is by altering its function. As you use a brain region it becomes more and more excitable and easy to use again. And as your brain has these areas that increase their excitability the brain shifts how and when they are activated. With learning we see that whole networks of brain activity are shifting and changing.

Perhaps even more intriguing is that, according to Boyd, these three aspects that are happening across the entire brain can occur in isolation from one another, as well as, and more commonly, in unison. And together, they support learning, and are happening all the time.
And so, we must come to terms with the astonishing reality that the human brain is not just incredibly malleable in infancy, but well into old age as well. This exciting knowledge takes away so many judgements and boundaries we have created.
Norman Doidge, M.D., a Canadian-born psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and author of The Brain That Changes Itself and The Brain’s Way of Healing, has been fascinated by the very same topic as Boyd. “The brain is a far more open system than we ever imagined, and nature has gone very far to help us perceive and take in the world around us. It has given us a brain that survives in a changing world by changing itself,” he says.
But if we know how neuroplastic our brain is, why can’t we learn anything we choose with ease? Why don’t we succeed at everything? Why is it so easy to forget things?
Boyd says there is no one size fits all for these answers, as our individual uniqueness can determine the impact of interventions.

…neuroplastcity can work both ways. It can be positive, you learn something new and you refine the motor skill. And it also can be negative though, you forgot something you once knew, you become addicted to drugs, maybe you have chronic pain. So your brain is tremendously plastic and it’s being shaped both structurally and functionally by everything you do, but also by everything that you don’t do

Stop the Press…Science is taking a different view at your mental/physical health relationship.

New science technology is lending it’s ear to the mental issues hidden behind chronic illness and how to solve the mystery.

“The term “energy medicine” has been in general use since the founding of the non-profit International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine in the 1980s. Guides are available for practitioners, and other books aim to provide a theoretical basis and evidence for the practice. Energy medicine often proposes that imbalances in the body’s “energy field” result in illness, and that by re-balancing the body’s energy-field health can be restored.[33] Some modalities describe treatments as ridding the body of negative energies or blockages in ‘mind’; illness or episodes of ill health after a treatment are referred to as a ‘release’ or letting go of a ‘contraction’ in the body-mind. Usually, a practitioner will then recommend further treatments for complete healing.

The US-based National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) distinguishes between health care involving scientifically observable energy, which it calls “Veritable Energy Medicine”, and health care methods that invoke physically undetectable or unverifiable “energies”, which it calls “Putative Energy Medicine”:[33]

Types of “veritable energy medicine” include magnet therapy, colorpuncture, and light therapy. Medical techniques involving the use electromagnetic radiation (e.g. radiation therapy or magnetic resonance imaging) are not considered “energy medicine” in the terms of alternative medicine.

Types of “putative energy medicine” include biofield energy healing therapies where the hands are used to direct or modulate “energies” which are believed to effect healing in the patient;[34][verification needed] this includes spiritual healing and psychic healing, Therapeutic touch, Healing Touch, Esoteric healing, Magnetic healing (now a historical term not to be confused with magnet therapy), Qigong healing, Reiki, Pranic healing, Crystal healing, distant healing, intercessory prayer, and similar modalities.[35][verification needed][36] Concepts such as Qi (Chi), Prana, Innate Intelligence, Mana, Pneuma, Vital fluid, Odic force, and Orgone are among the many terms that have been used to describe these putative energy fields.[35] This category does not include Acupuncture, Ayurvedic medicine, Chiropractic, and other modalities where a physical intervention is used to manipulate a putative energy.

I do know a few people that call themselves Naturopathic doctors, in some states you need a license in others you don’t. Here’s some info on that.

“Naturopathic practitioners in Switzerland can be divided into three groups: those with federal diploma, those recognized by health insurances, and those with neither federal diploma nor recognition by health insurances. Naturopaths with federal diploma can be divided into four categories: European traditional medicine, Chinese traditional medicine, ayurvedic medicine and homeopathy.[43][44] The number of listed naturopaths (including traditional healers) in Switzerland rose from 223 in 1970 to 1835 in 2000.[45].

Naturopathic practitioners in the United States can be divided into three groups: naturopathic physicians, traditional naturopaths, and other health care providers who offer naturopathic services.[15][46][47][48][49].

Licensure

Naturopathic doctors are licensed in 17 US states and 5 Canadian provinces”.

Spinach Leaf Transformed Into Beating Human Heart Tissue

Using the plant like scaffolding, scientists built a mini version of a working heart, which may one day aid in tissue regeneration.

Scientists have found a way to use spinach to build working human heart muscle, potentially solving a long-standing problem in efforts to repair damaged organs.

Their study, published this month by the journal Biomaterials, offers a new way to grow a vascular system, which has been a roadblock for tissue engineering.

Scientists have already created large-scale human tissue in a lab using methods like 3D printing, but it’s been much harder to grow the small, delicate blood vessels that are vital to tissue health.

Transforming a Spinach Leaf Into Beating Human Heart Tissue

“The main limiting factor for tissue engineering … is the lack of a vascular network,” says study co-author Joshua Gershlak, a graduate student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Massachusetts, in a video describing the study. “Without that vascular network, you get a lot of tissue death.”
One of the defining traits of a leaf is the branching network of thin veins that delivers water and nutrients to its cells. Now, scientists have used plant veins to replicate the way blood moves through human tissue. The work involves modifying a spinach leaf in the lab to remove its plant cells, which leaves behind a frame made of cellulose.

“Cellulose is biocompatible [and] has been used in a wide variety of regenerative medicine applications, such as cartilage tissue engineering, bone tissue engineering, and wound healing,” the authors write in their paper.

The team then bathed the remaining plant frame in live human cells, so that the human tissue grew on the spinach scaffolding and surrounded the tiny veins. Once they had transformed the spinach leaf into a sort of mini heart, the team sent fluids and microbeads through its veins to show that blood cells can flow through this system.

The eventual goal is to be able to replace damaged tissue in patients who have had heart attacks or who have suffered other cardiac issues that prevent their hearts from contracting. Like blood vessels, the veins in the modified leaves would deliver oxygen to the entire swath of replacement tissue, which is crucial in generating new heart matter.

The study team says the same methods could be used with different types of plants to repair a variety of tissues in the body. For instance, swapping out the cells in wood might one day help fix human bones.

We have a lot more work to do, but so far this is very promising,” study co-author Glenn Gaudette, also of WPI, says in a press statement. “Adapting abundant plants that farmers have been cultivating for thousands of years for use in tissue engineering could solve a host of problems limiting the field.”
