Google fined $2.7BN for EU antitrust violations over Proprietary Shopping Software

Brussels said tech giant abused dominance by manipulating search results to favor its own comparison shopping service.

Most of them get stomped down and lost in the back pages thanks to Googles applications that are given to the manufacturing companies of android devices. “What Google has done is illegal under EU antitrust rules, It denied other companies the chance to compete on the merits and to innovate. And most importantly, it denied European consumers a genuine choice of services and the full benefits of innovation. It was claimed by Brussels that the abuse caused traffic to Google’s shopping service to jump.

Google is appealing against the record €2.4bn (US $2.7BN) fine imposed by the European Union for its abuse of its dominance of the search engine market in building its shopping comparison service. It is expected to take several years before the ruling on Google’s appeal will become a reality. They will tie this up in court until the moon doesn’t shine and continue with their bad habits.
