Brussels said tech giant abused dominance by manipulating search results to favor its own comparison shopping service.
- Google’s Proprietary Software on your Android Systems?
- Shopping habits tracked and recorded?
- Showing ads that are paid for by sellers that advertise through Google?
The clapping in the background that you hear are the entrepreneur’s of small internet companies. Most of them get stomped down and lost in the back pages thanks to Googles applications that are given to the manufacturing companies of android devices. “What Google has done is illegal under EU antitrust rules, It denied other companies the chance to compete on the merits and to innovate. And most importantly, it denied European consumers a genuine choice of services and the full benefits of innovation. It was claimed by Brussels that the abuse caused traffic to Google’s shopping service to jump.
Google is appealing against the record €2.4bn (US $2.7BN) fine imposed by the European Union for its abuse of its dominance of the search engine market in building its shopping comparison service. It is expected to take several years before the ruling on Google’s appeal will become a reality. They will tie this up in court until the moon doesn’t shine and continue with their bad habits.
What does the USA have to say? I haven’t really heard to much chatter from the money hungry officials of California. They are more absorbed in keeping their house keepers and gardeners right now. Keeping Slavery Strong in The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Anyone going to take on the Silicon Valley Giant? I don’t see Governor Jerry Brown or Dianne Feinstein chiming in and saying a word on this. Does he not care that his community of supporters are being railroaded into only shopping on an application loaded with proprietary software continue to skate around.
